How to request legal services
You can request legal services from us by going to any of our three offices or calling us.
You can also use our simple and convenient English online form or Spanish online form to request legal services (recommended).
What to know before you apply
We provide free legal services to low income and elderly residents of Essex County and Northern Middlesex County. If you do not live in our geographic service area, please use the Legal Aid Finder to locate the legal services program that serves your community.
Generally, to receive legal assistance you must live in a low-income household and have limited assets.
There are no financial eligibility requirements for these applicants:
Seniors (age 60 and older)
Victims of crime and survivors of homicide victims who have a legal problem related to their victimization
If you are unsure whether you are eligible, apply for services and we will determine your eligibility.
In house staff can help you in many different languages including Spanish, Khmer and other languages. A free interpreter will be provided for other languages.
