Internships

With a strong belief in giving students the opportunity to experience and learn client-centered, holistic advocacy, Northeast Legal Aid provides internship opportunities for law and undergraduate students.

We accept internship applications throughout the year. Please send a resume and cover letter indicating your interest to Corine Reardon, Program Administrator, creardon@nla-ma.org.

Northeast Legal Aid offers internships for law students at all levels. We welcome all students interested in making a difference in the lives of our low-income and elderly clients. Dedicated, thoughtful college students are also encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

  • Northeast Legal Aid recruits student interns from various law schools across the country for spring, summer, fall, and winter internships. We participate in Boston-area consortiums for on-campus interviews and also conduct interviews for other schools at our office, via Zoom, or over the phone. We welcome students from all schools with an interest in interning in our service area to apply.

  • Our most popular internship season, our summer intern cohort includes a comprehensive orientation, inter-office intern get-togethers, Learning Lunches, and various other events and learning opportunities. Recruitment for summer interns usually begins in January and continues through May or until all spaces are filled.

  • Our legal services internships are unpaid, but we encourage students to inquire with their schools whether funding is available for public interest internships. We assist with any required paperwork for fulfilling public interest documentation.

If you have any questions about our internship program, please email our Intern Coordinator: Susan Malouin, smalouin@nla-ma.org.
