Housing needs rank at the top of Northeast Legal Aid’s priority list.

Northeast Legal Aid runs three weekly Lawyer for a Day sessions in the Northeast Housing Court, in Lawrence, Lowell and Lynn/Salem. The Lawyer for a Day Program provides income eligible tenants and small landlords with critical legal assistance at the time and place of their need. 

The Housing Unit also helps low income and elderly tenants with completing answer and discovery forms to help them defend against eviction.

Administrative advocacy is available for families facing subsidy and shelter terminations.

Northeast Legal Aid also takes on policy issues and affirmative litigation to enforce tenants’ rights.
